Tentative Program Schedule
The schedule for the Prime Crime weekend will follow the schedule of McM, but with a few additions we think will enhance the program. One of the tracks of panels will be largely instructional, featuring our author guests who will discuss the nuts and bolts of writing for all the would-be authors in the audience.

On Thursday night, you can Join Andy & Shelly Gage, founders of East Central Indiana Paranormal Investigators, for a “Ghost Tour” looking at the spooky side of the historic Columbia Club. The Gages will share stories collected from Club staff and demonstrate how some ghost hunting equipment works. You’ll even have a chance to try some of it out yourselves! Will the spirits come out to play?

After the Friday night reception you can join your favorite authors in enjoying their favorite libations during the “Booze Crooze.” Do you favor Bourbon with C.J. Box? A martini with John Gilstrap? Vodka with Ruth Dudley Edwards? Perhaps an Old Fashioned with Jeffery Deaver or a gin and tonic with Reavis Wortham? No presentations, no lectures, just interesting conversation that will either become progressively more brilliant as the evening wears on, or will make no sense at all. Stay tuned for additional details.

There will also be a new game show called “Match Game,” with perennial favorite John Gilstrap as host. Based on the classic television game show of the 1970s, contestant attendees will compete to match wits with a panel of celebrity authors by answering silly fill-in-the-blank questions with what they think will be the most likely answers. The winner is the contestant who matches the most celebrities after two rounds of questioning. Prizes will be awarded.

INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS

Author Panels and Program Book
If you have a full-length novel or a collection of short stories, published in 2017 through 2022, we will make every effort to consider you for panels and presentations, but program assignments are not guaranteed due to a limited number of spaces. Please email a biography, complete bibliography, and a photo to [email protected] so that it can be included in the program book.

Festival Bookseller
We are pleased that MacArthur Books is the official bookseller of Prime Crime at the Columbia Club. Located in Carmel, Indiana, MacArthur Books is a general independent bookstore owned by Cynthia Compton, who is familiar to Magna Cum Murder attendees as the conference bookseller for the past 5 years. Cynthia is on the Board of Directors of the American Bookseller Association, past president of the Great Lakes Independent Bookselling Association, and her bookstores have been the grateful recipients of many honors, including the Pannell Award from the Women’s National Book Association.

All authors attending Prime Crime are invited to use MacArthur Books as their bookseller onsite. Any traditionally published books still in circulation and available for order from a publisher or wholesaler may be requested by their authors by October 1st, and they will be ordered by the bookseller to be offered for sale at the conference.  We make every attempt to stock the most recent titles from each author who is presenting, but if an earlier title or series is more appropriate to a panel discussion or presentation, please let us know. Self-published books and those titles from presses without wholesale account programs may be furnished by the authors for sale by the bookseller, and MacArthur Books will collect payment during the event, process credit cards, and remit sales tax. Those authors who bring titles will then be asked to take unsold books at the end of the event, and paid the industry wholesale standard of 60% of purchase price on the final day of the event. If books are to be included in our Prime Crime inventory, titles and ISBN numbers must be provided to the bookseller by Oct. 1.  Information and questions can be emailed to: [email protected], and please include the author’s legal name, all titles and pen names, ISBN, and price of each volume. If there are books to be displayed as part of a series, please number each title and include the series name.

Advertising Opportunities for Authors
If you are interested in placing an ad in the program book, the cost is $100 for a half-page ad and $200 for a full-page ad.  You may reserve your ad space at https://ccprimecrime.com/product/sponsorship-packages. There is a drop-down menu under “Sponsorship Packages” that allows you to select a half-page ad or full-page ad. Also, feel free to forward this link to your publicist if you wish them to place the ad on your behalf.
